Direct Foreign Investments in Eastern Poland totalling EUR 1,324.48 million.

In the period from 2002 to November 2013, the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency managed to ensure the commencement of 489 investments in Poland, totalling EUR 11,926.57 million, which will contribute to the creation of 138,584 new jobs, of which 8,382 in Eastern Poland.

From 2002 to 2013, 46 projects were completed in Eastern Poland, i.e. 9.4% of all projects implemented in Poland.The value of Eastern Poland undertakings amounted to EUR 1,324.48 million, i.e. 11.1% of the total value.Through the projects as many as 8,382 new jobs will be created – 6% of all new jobs in Poland, created as a result if the implementation of projects initiated by the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency.  

The Eastern Poland Economic Promotion Programme still contributes to the development of the Eastern Poland Macroregion.Five voivodeships:Podkarpackie, Podlaskie, Lubelskie, Świętokrzyskie and Warmińsko-Mazurskie continuously record employment growth from day one of Programme implementation, and new investments contribute to the development of all sectors.

- The Eastern Poland Economic Promotion Programme provides an opportunity for the development of Direct Foreign Investments in longer perspective.Through missions, fairs and study visits organised by PAIiIZ, entrepreneurs form Eastern Poland and representatives of local governments were able to present their offer to potential foreign investors.Also our international guests could see the economic potential of the Macroregion, which resulted in the conclusion of many contracts during the Programme implementation – explains Bożena Czaja, member of the Management Board of the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency.

Most recently – in 2010-2013 (data as of 6.11.2013), investments contributed to the creation of 4674 new jobs, and their value amounted to EUR 652.4 million.The Agency’s database features 424 greenfield investment proposals and 79 brownfield offers.Foreign investors interested in Eastern Poland were provided with 448 offers, of which 27 have been implemented in the Macroregion.
