For the second time in a row the entrepreneurs representing the food sector from Eastern Poland participated in economic mission to Vietnam.

Within the mission entrepreneurs participated in 16th edition of international food fair Vietfood & Beverage lasting from 13th to 16th September 2012 in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly named Saigon). Vietfood & Beverage it is the leading market and exhibition event in the region orientated to food sector, which gathers producers, distributors, importers, exporters, wholesalers and retailers as well as HoReCa sector.

Among entrepreneurs from Eastern Poland were companies from the dairy sector, honey and mead producers, sweets producers, producers of  functional additives and spices for meat industry and meat sector companies. At the common stand, 10  Polish companies presented their products and trade offer.

During the first day of the fair entrepreneurs from Eastern Poland participated in forum organised by the Polish Embassy in Hanoi, during which they had the chance to learn about specificity of Vietnamese  food trade sector  and its tendencies of development during the last years and its perspective for the next years. As prelectors appeared,  the representatives of Ho Chi Minh City institutions: City Council, Promotion and Investment Centre and Chamber of Commerce and EU representative to Vietnam as well as  the Member of PAIiIZ Management Board – Mrs. Bożena Czaja and Mrs. Agnieszka Różanska from UPEMI. The guests were welcomed by the Polish Embassy Advisor in Hanoi, Mr. Wojchiech Gerwel.

B2B meetings in Ho Chi Minh

The next point of the economic mission to Vietnam were the visits to the local supermarkets and the meetings with the managers of the shops, as well as the B2B meetings, during them representatives of Polish companies had many business conversations with local entrepreneurs and food importers. The host of the  meetings was PAIiIZ S.A. (Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency) in cooperation with Food and Foodstuff Association of Ho Chi Minh City, the organization gathering food producers of Ho Chi Minh City.

In the mission participated: Allnet from Międzyrzec Podlaski, EDPOL from Łomża, Indykpol from Olsztyn, LACTIMA  from Morąg, “JK” from Lublin, Mazurias Meads “Karolina” from Stawigudy, Apiculture Cooperative APIS from Lublin,  Dairy Cooperative Łapy, PPUH “Komirex” from Siemiatycze and  PW MAT from Starachowice.

The economic mission lasted from 12th to 18th September 2012. The participation in the mission was organized by PAIiIZ S.A. (Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency) within Promotion, Development of Eastern Poland Operational Programme, Measure I.4 Promotion and Co-operation.
