Talks about agri-food sectors in Algeria and Nice

The mission of entrepreneurs from the Eastern Poland to Algeria and Nice has just begun. In Oran and Algiers, Polish companies will meet entrepreneurs associated in the regional chambers of commerce. In Nice, a seminar on the opportunities of Polish -African cooperation regarding agri-food sector and B2B meetings will be held. Mission is headed by PAIiIZ’s deputy president Anna Polak-Kocińska.

“Polish products offer high quality of products and services and are able to adapt to global customers’needs”, said deputy president Polak-Kocińska during a meeting with Algerian businessmen in Oran. The Oran Region is the second-largest province in Algeria and a dynamically developing industrial centre. As stated by Mouad Abed, the head of local chamber of commerce and industry, Oran is very open to cooperation with European countries.

The Mission to Algiera and Nice is participated by such companies form the Eastern Poland Macro-region as: Bartex, Fruit & Vegetable Processing Plant “Lubawa”, Dairy Cooperative in Łapy, PW MAT Marzena Tkaczuk, Mazurskie Miody Bogdan Piasecki, Lactima, Nero, APIS Apiculture Cooperative, Unico Katarzyna Adam Jasińscy and Kormoran Brewery.

Conference and B2B talks between Polish and Algerian businessmen, which took place on 25 May, are the first official highlight of the Eastern Poland business mission to Algeria. On 26 May, companies from this Macro-region will participate in the trade fair in Algiers and a seminar session combined with direct business talks with Algerian entrepreneurs. Two days after, the Polish-African Forum for Agricultural and Food will be held in Nice.

Algeria is a country with high potential for Polish exporters, active particularly in dairy products. Prospective sectors for bilateral cooperation also include: construction, health care, environmental protection, machinery and the defense industry.

The mission has been arranged by PAIiIZ and co-financed from the European Regional Development Fund under Operation Programme Eastern Poland Regional Development Found, submeasure I.4. (PAIiIZ)
