Journalists visit the Świętokrzyskie and the Podkarpackie Province during the study visit

Invited by the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency S.A. under the Eastern Poland Economic Promotion, journalists from the United Arab Emirates and the People’s Republic of China visited Eastern Poland Macroregion on 10-14 June.

During the study visit, the journalists familirised not only with the investing advantages of the visited regions but also Eastern Poland’s touristic values. On the first day, they took part in the official opening of the 3rd Eastern Poland Business Forum in Kielce. The formal evening, during which media and business representatives from different countries met together, took place in the Świętokrzyska Symphony Hall. The next day, the guests participated in workshops and panel discussions, visited the Kielce Technology Park, where they had the chance to listen to a presentation about innovative, environment friendly dry ice cleaning technology delivered by the representatives of Eolis – the company providing the technology. During the meetings, the journalists asked the region representatives a lot of questions. The visit in Kielce ended with a tour around the former Krakow Bishops Palance and the Paradise Cave, and later the journalists went to Sandomierz.

Another item on the agenda was a visit to the factory of the global leader in the innovative and highly effective glass products and glazing systems. Ryszard Jania, CEO of Pilkington Automotive Poland  Sp. z o. o., introduced a short history of the company and showed the guests the factory, where they had the opportunity to familiarise with the automotive glass manufacturing process.

In order to continue the discussion about Pilkington and the advantages of the Tarnobrzeska Special Economic Zone, the guests went to the Baranów Sandomierski Castle. After the discussion, they went to an official lunch with the authorities of Przemyśl.

The subjects raised during the meeting included future investments planned in Eastern Poland, particularly in the visited region. The guests were interested in the prospects of opening a company in Poland and benefiting from the preferential conditions offered by the Zones.

Late afternoon, welcomed by the President of REM II Andrzej Pichur, the guests acquainted with the secrets of the window frames manufactured by the company that was opened 10 years ago and ever since that time has been developing.

The last days of the visit to Eastern Poland were spent in Rzeszów. Owing to the engagement of the local authorities, representatives of foreign media had the chance to appreciate touristic offer of the city and, importantly, learn about the operation of the world’s renowned IT company: ASSECO. Following the visit to ASSECO, the guests went for a lunch with the Deputy Mayor of Rzeszów, Mr. Marek Ustrobiński, Mrs. Aneta Radaczyńska from the Department of Promotion and International Cooperation of Rzeszów’s City Hall, Mr. Bogdan Romaniuk, Member of the Board of the Podkarpackie Marshall Office and Mr. Jarosław Reczko, Director of the Promotion and Tourism Department in the Podkarpackie Marshall Office. 

After the lunch, the journalists visited the Podkarpacki Science and Technology Park AEROPOLIS, where they viewed the new office building and production hall of Borg Warner Poland Sp. z o.o. and then listened to the presentation delivered by the Director of PPN-T AEROPOLIS – Barbara Kostyra.

The study visit included visiting two provinces: Świętokrzyskie and Podkarpackie. The jouranlists participated in meeting with local authorities and familiarised with the region’s development and investment plans.
