Between 30 June and 2 July 2013, representatives of food sector companies from Eastern Poland participated in New York’s Summer Fancy Food Show, where they jointly presented their region’s products on one large stand.

Supported by PAIiIZ, food manufacturers from Eastern Poland completed another successful trade mission, this time to New York. Potential partners and distributors interested in cooperation with Polish companies had an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the offers of enterprises operating in confectionery, dairy, meat, alcoholic beverages, fruit and vegetables, and frozen products’ sectors. Participation in the show enabled the entrepreneurs to establish direct contacts with the event’s main business partners, including food distributors – both state and national, wholesalers, agents, and the HoReCa sector. Like for many years, the institution behind the event was the Specialty Food Association, organizer of winter and summer editions of Fancy Food in the USA. Summer Fancy Food Show is the largest event devoted to the food sector on the East Coast.

The Polish stand was complemented by a stand of the Trade and Investment Promotion Section in New York, which presented the offers of other companies from Poland. On 1 July, Consul Henryk Sanecki organized a meeting devoted to the potential of the Polish food sector, which brought together distributors of ethnic products on the American market, representatives of importers and agents already cooperating with companies from Poland, and representatives of institutions providing support to foreign companies wishing to obtain permits and certificates required by the American food market. The meeting, organized in the Polish Consulate General in New York and hosted by Consul Sanecki, was opened by Consul General Ewa Junczyk-Ziomecka, and Member of the Board of PAIiIZ, Bożena Czaja.

The project was coordinated by PAIiIZ, operating within the framework of the Eastern Poland Economic Promotion Programme, Development of Eastern Poland Operational Programme, Measure I.4 Promotion and Cooperation.
