The third edition of the event attracted more than 260 guests including many VIPs from Poland and abroad: representatives of entrepreneurs, regional authorities, businessmen interested in economic cooperation with Eastern Poland and many notable economy experts.

“European crisis, Polish opportunities. Time for new directions, new ideas – time for Eastern Poland” - this was the theme of the Forum organised by the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency on 10 and 11 June 2013 in Kielce.

This year, the special guests were Janusz Steinhoff – former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Mariusz Grendowicz – President of the Polish Development Investments.

The meeting was officially opened by Bożena Czaja – Member of the Management Board of the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency, the Forum's host, Adam Jarubas – Marshal of the Świętokrzyskie Province and Wojciech Lubawski – Mayor of Kielce. The Forum's aim is to create a favourable economic climate for Eastern Poland by referring to the macroregon's specificity and strengths, therefore, the subjects raised during the two plenary sessions concerned priorities and opportunities for development of Eastern Poland in the context of the global economic situation today. Discussion also involved the new 2014-2020 EU budget and its distribution and availability for future beneficiaries. 

The panellists included: Dariusz Bogdan – Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Economy, Prof. Wojciech Łukowski – professor at the Institute of Political Sciences of the University of Warsaw, Robert C. Bush, JR – the founding principal of Majlis Partners, a boutique advising company with the head office in the United Arab Emirates, Jerzy Kwieciński, PhD – President of the European Centre for Enterprise, Bożena Lublińska-Kasprzak – President of PARP (the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development), Marek Zuber – Polish economist, Ryszard Jania – CEO of Pilkington Automotive Poland and country manager of NSG Group in Poland and Rafał Sukiennik – Deputy Director of the Department of Transregional Programmes in the Ministry of Regional Development.

The guests were represented by business representatives from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, India, South Korea, Japan, France and USA.

Furthermore, Eastern Poland was awarded during the Forum for active support of the Polish-Arabic collaboration. In acknowledgement of the close cooperation so far, Mrs. Bożena Czaja – Member of the Management Board of the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency S.A. - was presented with a commemorative statuette handed by Mr. Hamdan Mohamed Al Murshidi – Chairman of the Arab Business Club. Handing the award, Mr. Chairman thanked Mrs. President for her contribution and expressed the will to actively support the process of tightening the cooperation, including attracting prospect Arab investments to Poland and Eastern Poland.

Among the Forum's participants were also foreign correspondents from China, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. The Conference was accompanied by a series of workshops dedicated to entrepreneurs and local government representatives.
