Owing to a recent Polagra Food 2013 trade show, Poland was visited by the representatives of business world from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and UEA. The visit was organised under the Eastern Poland Economic Promotion Programme.
Mission’s agenda included events organised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Agricultural Market Agency and Poznań International Fair, such as conferences dedicated to changes in international trading of the Polish food and farming products, financial perspective of the Common Agricultural Policy 2014-2020 and the export potential of the Polish food industry.
Guests also participated in a series of specialist discussion panels dedicated to individual sectors (including fruit and vegetable processing, confectionary and alcohol), Polish food safety, the influence of the promotional campaigns on the export size and the gala of “Poznaj Dobrą Żywność (Meet Fine Food)” quality mark as well as Acanthus Aureus award ceremony (for the best designed stand of the trade show).
Apart from official meetings, the delegation had two series of B2B meetings with entrepreneurs from Eastern Poland and a short get-together with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy, Janusz Piechociński.
During the meeting with the delegation, the Deputy President of PAIiIZ, Bożena Czaja stressed that the interest in the Polish food in the Middle East is constantly growing and Polish products are enjoying good reputation. The result of the promotional actions is the growing number of contacts that should lead to some real and concrete cooperation in the future.
The mission that took place on 22-25 September was organised under the Eastern Poland Economic Promotion Programme pursued under the Operational Programme Development Eastern Poland co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund. (PAIiIZ)
